Carillon Operation Instructions
LAST UPDATED: April 2025
Carillon Instructions (as found in the physical and digital Operating Instructions folder). The key for the Carillon system can be found within the red folder. The Carillon system can be found in the top floor of the Hager Administration building in the room to the left of the bell tower access room.
Change Seasonal Song Lists
(see pg. 17 of the Operating Instructions for more info)
- Insert the key and turn to MANUAL
- Press PROGRAM MODE.
- Scroll to SONG LIBRARIES and select by pressing the scroll knob.
- Scroll down to EDIT OR REVIEW ALL LIBRARY DATE RANGS and select.
- Press DELETE ALL to clear last year’s date ranges.
- Press NEW ENTRY.
- Select a library other than General (which is default). These will be played in between programed dates.
- Assign a beginning date and ending date.
- Press STORE.
- Repeat steps 1 through 3 for each date range.
- Press CANCEL or BACK to return to the previous screen.
- Turn the key to AUTO and remove the key.
Program a Special Play Point
Use this program to play one or more songs or other functions at a future time and date (see pg. 15 and 26 of the Operating Instructions for more info)
- Insert the key and turn to MANUAL.
- Press PROGRAM MODE.
- Copy desired song into a direct playlist.
- Scroll to SONG LIBRARIES and select.
- Scroll down to EDIT / REVIEW DIRECT PLAY LIST and select.
- To review an existing direct playlist, scroll to a list without a strikethroughand select.
- Select that list and the programmed song(s) will be displayed.
- Press CANCEL or BACK to return to the previous screen.
- To program a new list, scroll to a direct playlist with a strikethrough and select.
- Press ADD SONG.
- Scroll to ALBUM and select.
- Scroll to SONG and select.
- Press ADD SONG.
- Repeat steps 5 through 8 to add more songs.
- Press STORE.
- Each direct playlist can be renamed for easier location of a desired song.

- Scroll to PROGRAM SCHEDULE and select.
- Scroll down to SPECIAL PLAY POINTS and select.
- Press NEW ENTRY.
- Scroll to edit HOURS, then MINUTES, then DATE.
- Select PLAY VERY YEAR or PLAY ONCE.
- Press enter FCT’S.
- Press ADD FCT.
- Scroll to DIRECT LIST PLAYER and select.
- Scroll to and select the direct list containing the song(s) programmed above.
- Press STORE.
- Turn the key to AUTO and remove the key.
To Play a Song Immediately
- Use this program to play one or more songs or other functions on cue
- Insert the key and turn to MANUAL.
- Press PROGRAM MODE.
- Copy the desired song into a direct playlist.
- Scroll to SONG LIBRARIES and select.
- Scroll down to EDIT / REVIEW DIRECT PLAY LIST and select.
- To review an existing direct play list, scroll to a list without a strikethroughand select.
- Select that list and the programmed song(s) will be displayed.
- Press CANCEL or BACK to return to the previous screen.
- To program a new list, scroll to a direct playlist with a strikethrough and select.
- Press ADD SONG.
- Scroll to Album and select.
- Scroll to Song and select.
- Press ADD SONG.
- Repeat 5 through 8 to add more songs.
- Press STORE.
- Each Direct Play List can be renamed for easier location of a desired song.
- See pg. 16 of the Operational Instructions for more information.
- Return to the home screen and press MANUAL MODE.
- Scroll to SONG PLAYER and select.
- Scroll to DIRECT LIST PLAYER and select.
- STOP!
- On cue from someone at the venue for which the song is being played press the scroll knob to begin playing the selected song(s). the selected direct playlist will begin immediately upon selecting that list!
